Practice Kindness
Kindness is such magical trait.
How can I be kind ? Does it mean that I need to feed people on the streets everyday?
Does it mean that I have to help a blind person cross the street everyday ?
How do I do that with a full time job, errands to run and how does this benefit anyone ? Is it just to post on my Instagram story and say #spreadkindness.
Honestly, it is none of the above. These are nice to watch in movies and how often do we actually bump into a homeless person or a blind person that we can help to cross the street.
Here are 4 simple things that we can do to practice kindness :
YOURSELF
You can never be kind to others unless you are kind to yourself. So start with yourself, stop calling yourself harsh names, criticizing and scrutinizing yourself. This does not mean we will allow ourselves to act ridiculous and be okay with it.If you have done something not very nice, first ask for an apology, analyze how you can avoid similar situations in the future, take the lesson with you and forgive yourself.
Remember, we are all not born here with a Guide on what to do, how to behave and what to say. It is based on our experiences, environment and awareness we react to things around us. So be kind to yourself when you make a mistake , forgive yourself, ask God for forgiveness and believe that he will guide you in the best way possible.
Don’t kill yourself with negative self talk everyday .
People around you
This could be your friend, colleague, patients, clients , the waiter and everyone who comes into contact with you on that day. Stay present in every moment of the day, especially when interacting with others and be kind.
Try your best to not use hurtful swear words to anyone. No matter how absurd the person is , if you think you are about to say something not very kind, try removing yourself from the situation , leave and think if what you say is going to benefit/ positively impact anyone.
Sometimes, you might need to pass a message to someone who is rude to you , just KILL them with your KINDNESS.
All creatures around you
Plants and animals make this world a much better place to live in. Always , always look out for them. I believe that plants and animals are spiritual masters to help humans become more centered and aware of consciousness.
They help you escape the mundane routines.
They teach you stillness.
They teach you peace.
They teach you unconditional love.
They teach you selflessness.
They teach us compassion.
They teach us to be present , in the NOW.
The Planet
Be kind to the plant that supports you. Reduce the use of plastic materials, recycle your garbage and do not waste water. We only have one planet and it is our home. Spread awareness on methods to take care and be kind to your planet.
These are very simple things that we can do in order to start integrating kindness consciously into our lives.
Till next time,
